Frequently Asked Questions1. How do I become a member?
You Must take Seminar One to qualify for membership. From the time you join at this entry level, you may become a Provisional Member. You have three years to complete the seminar series, the homework assignments, and the oral exam. An extension may be granted through the President of the IACC. Those who have completed the seminar series, assignments, and exam qualify for IACC-NA Associate-level membership. Review guidelines and benefits, then fill out the online application. 2. How do I find a color consultant in my area?
You can locate color designers by accessing our member database online.

3. Where are the seminars held?
The IACC seminar series is held in San Diego, CA. The series consists of four seminars. Seminar One is the pre-requisite to all subsequent seminars, and must be taken first. Seminar One is offered in fall and spring followed by any one of the other three seminars that don’t have to be taken in order. For further seminar information, brochures, registration forms contact:

6. What is the cost of the seminars?
Cost of each session varies. Details are provided when you call or email the Seminar Coordinator at mahnke_aicce@worldnet.att.net.

7. Are the seminars offered online or elsewhere?
At this time, the courses are not offered online, or elsewhere in the United States.

8. How long does it take to complete the program?
The seminars are conducted twice a year in the Spring and Fall (see item 2, above). The cycle consists of completing Seminars 1-4, however participation is not subject to a strict 1-4 seminar sequence. The only prerequisite for attending seminars 2, 3 and 4 is the one-time participation in Seminar 1, the introductory seminar in the cycle. Therefore, Seminar 1 always precedes any one of the other seminars. A complete course cycle can be completed in as little as one full year.

11. What is the difference between the IACC, the IACC-NA, and the AICCE?
IACC is the international parent organization, the International Association of Color Consultants. It is an organization of color professionals specially trained in the functional application of color and the human response.

IACC-NA is the North America (NA) chapter, a not for profit organization, and is comprised of IACC educated color consultants, as are in the IACC. We also have chapters in Europe and Japan.

While the seminars are originating from the international organization, the IACC, in the U.S they are organized and administered by the AICCE, or American Information Center for Color and Environment. Frank Mahnke is director of the AICCE and teaches most of the seminar series.
